Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in position of the top dead point (ВМТ)

As the top dead point (ВМТ) is called the highest point of a piston stroke in the cylinder. Strictly speaking, in 4-taktnyh engines in the course of rotation of a cranked shaft the given position is reached by each of pistons twice: once in the end of a step of compression and the second – in the end of a final step. At performance of procedures of adjustment and adjustment of the engine in overwhelming majority of cases position ВМТ of the end of a step of compression of the piston (usually the first cylinder) is used.

Necessity for reduction of the piston (it) in position ВМТ arises at carrying out of many procedures, in particular, at adjustment of phases газораспределения, replacement of components of drive ГРМ and so forth

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure that transmission is translated in neutral position and strongly cock a lay brake, or prop up back wheels of the car противооткатными boots. On the petrol engine also disconnect ignition system, having disunited electric sockets primary (НВ) a contour (a wire of smaller diameter) bobbin assemblages (the engine Electric equipment see the Head). Take a key from the ignition lock. Turn out candles (see the Head of Adjustment and car routine maintenance).
2. Reduction of any of pistons in position ВМТ is made by проворачивания a cranked shaft of the engine by one of described below ways. If to look at the engine in front (from outside drive ГРМ), normal rotation of a cranked shaft clockwise will be considered.
  1. The most effective method is проворачивание a shaft in a normal direction (do not try to turn at all a shaft in an opposite direction!) for a bolt screwed in an end face of its forward pin by means of a face key with a ratchet drive

    On some models for this purpose it is necessary to remove the bottom filter from outside the forward passenger;

  2. To save time use of a remote control by starter functioning (follow instructions of manufacturers of the device) will allow. As soon as the piston will appear close enough from ВМТ the end of a step of compression, the starter stops also the further adjustment is carried out by a method described in point and;
  3. In the presence of the assistant preliminary проворачивание the engine can be carried out short inclusions of a starter from a driver's place under the direction of the operator. The same principle, as described in point b. Definitive updating, besides, is made manually, by means of a face key (the point see).
3. On the petrol engine 2UZ-FE management of ignition distribution carries out the onboard processor by means of the bobbin assemblages established over each candle (the engine Electric equipment see the Head).
4. For engine reduction in position ВМТ turn out a candle of the first cylinder and screw on its place компрессиометр, the carving nozzle with a connecting hose in length not less than 15 centimetres (the Engine see the Head) is required.

5. Start to turn a cranked shaft for a pulley bolt in a normal direction (paragraph 2 see). Piston approach to position ВМТ of the end of a step of compression is accompanied by pressure lifting in the cylinder. Continue to turn a shaft until there will be a combination of adjusting labels (address to an accompanying illustration), at casual «проскакивании» positions ВМТ dump pressure upon a measuring instrument and turn a shaft on two complete revolutions!
6. A guarantee of reduction of the engine in position ВМТ of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder is adequate combination of adjusting labels on asterisks cranked and camshafts.
7. Now, that serially, as ignition (Specifications see) to result in ВМТ pistons of the remained cylinders simply enough consistently to turn a cranked shaft in a normal direction with step:

  1. On engines 2UZ-FE – 180 °;
  2. On engines 1HD-FTE – 360 °.
