The electric drive of external rear-view mirrors – the general data and check of serviceability of functioning

For a drive of a lateral rear-view mirror it is used two electromotors: one provides adjustment of position of a mirror in the vertical plane, the second – in horizontal. In addition, on some models the electroheating of mirrors working at inclusion of heating of back glass is provided.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The switch of management of the electric drive is usually equipped by the selector knot providing a choice of a direction of giving of pressure (on right or on the left mirror). Without starting the engine, turn the ignition key in position ON, lower door glasses and test all modes of functioning of the electric drive of both lateral mirrors.
2. Attentively listen to published by electromotors of a drive of mirrors to sounds.
3. If on hearing the motor works regularly, however the mirror does not change the position, probably, defect приводного the mechanism in a mirror takes place. Remove a corresponding mirror and disassemble it for search of a cause of a failure.
4. If mirrors do not function also motors of their drives do not publish any sounds, check up a condition of a corresponding safety lock (see the Head of Adjustment and car routine maintenance).
5. If the safety lock is perfectly in order, remove from the support the switch of management of functioning of the electric drive of mirrors (do not disconnect electroconducting). Include ignition and check up serviceability of giving of a food on the switch. Pressure should take place on one of plugs of a socket of the switch, otherwise check up a condition of connecting electroconducting on a site between the switch and the assembly block of safety locks.
6. If a food moves regularly, disconnect electroconducting and check up correctness of distribution проводимостей between switch plugs in its various positions (in position OFF conductivity should be absent).
7. The faulty switch is subject to replacement.
8. Restore initial connection of electroconducting and find a wire of grounding of assemblage of the switch. Продублируйте grounding by a wire-crosspiece. If now the motor starts to function, it is necessary to restore quality of grounding of assemblage on weight.
9. If grounding is perfectly in order, and the drive still does not operate, remove from assemblage of a mirror a cover and check up serviceability of giving of a food on приводной the electromotor. Include ignition and translate the selector switch of assemblage of management on adjustment of a corresponding mirror. At moving of a key of adjustment of position of a mirror to any of working positions on a drive of the last pressure should move.
10. At revealing of infringements in food giving check up an electroconducting condition on a site between the switch and a drive.
11. If pressure moves regularly, remove a mirror and check up serviceability of functioning of its drive by direct запитывания from the battery:
   a. By means of wires-crosspieces connect a positive pole of the battery to the plug № 3 приводного the electromotor, negative to the plug № 1, the mirror should turn to the left;
   b. At change of polarity the mirror should turn to the right;
   c. Now connect the battery between plugs 2 (a positive pole) and 1 (a negative pole), the mirror should be developed upwards;
   d. At change of polarity of connection of the battery the mirror should be developed downwards.
12. The faulty mirror is subject to replacement (the Body see the Head).
