Check of serviceability of functioning of the fuel pump

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The scheme of a design of the fuel pump is presented on an illustration above.
2. Connect the scanner to diagnostic socket DLC3 (address to an accompanying illustration).
3. Include ignition (the engine do not start).
4. Start scanner function «Check of the fuel pump» («Test fuel pump») and follow its instructions.
5. In the absence of the scanner remove a back seat and a carpet (see Has undressed Removal and installation of a fuel tank), remove technological лючок and submit on a socket of the pump a food from the 12-volt accumulator.
6. Check up presence of pressure of fuel on an exit from the pump: in a hose pulsations should be felt and fuel murmur should be heard. In this case the assistant listens to pump work at the removed cover of a jellied mouth of a fuel tank.
7. If pressure is absent, check up following components:
   a. Fusible inserts (MAIN2.0L, AM20.3P);
   b. Safety locks (EFI 15 A, IGN 7.5 A);
   c. The main relay (EFI)
   d. The fuel pump
   e. ECU
   f. Electroconducting sockets
8. Translate the ignition key in position «Lock».
9. Disconnect from socket DLC3 the scanner.

Check of the pressure head characteristic of the fuel pump

For check of pressure of fuel the special manometre with a scale of a wide range and a transitive nozzle for manometre connection to system of injection of cars of mark Toyota is required.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Prepare the special manometre equipped with a connecting hose with штуцерным by a socket with a hollow bolt and calculated on measurement of pressure of fuel in a range to 4.2 kgs/sm 2.
2. For dump of residual pressure in a fuel tank uncover its jellied mouth.
3. Check up level of a charge of the battery, – target pressure should make not less than 12 In (the engine Electric equipment see the Head).
4. Dump pressure in the power supply system (Razdel Sbrasyvanie of pressure in the power supply system see).
5. On a fuel highway for manometre connection the special union is provided, do not forget to establish sealing washers from both parties of a hollow bolt (address to an accompanying illustration). Tighten a bolt with effort of 29 Nanometers.
6. Attach to socket DLC3 the scanner. Connect the battery, include ignition.
7. Consider the indication of a manometre and compare it to requirements of Specifications. At excessively high indications check up passableness of a line of return of fuel and the fuel filter, in case of need replace a pressure regulator. If pressure in system too little, press a returnable gasoline pipe line, – if pressure rises, replace a regulator, otherwise check up a condition of a line of giving of fuel, a gasoline pump and the fuel filter.
8. Start the engine. Measure pressure of fuel upon single turns. If the result of measurement falls outside the limits an admissible range (Specifications see), check up a regulator of pressure of fuel and-or injectors.
9. Muffle the engine and make sure that within five minutes the system continues to keep pressure at level not below 1.5 kgs/sm 2. If pressure falls too quickly, check up a regulator, the pump and injectors on presence of signs of development of leaks.
10. Having checked up pressure, disconnect a negative wire from the battery and accurately remove a manometre with adapters. Try not to pour fuel.
11. Attach a fuel highway with new sealing rings. Tighten bolts the moment 29 – 34 Nanometers.
12. Attach a negative wire to the battery.
13. Get the engine and be convinced of absence of leakings.
