Kardannye shaft and hinges – the general information

The kardannyj shaft represents a pipe by means of which the twisting moment developed by the engine is transferred from a distributing box to differential of the main transfer. From both ends the shaft is equipped universal (карданными) by hinges.

In front карданный the shaft is equipped sliding муфтой with вильчатым a collar карданного the hinge on the end. Муфта enters into the case of lengthening of a transmission that provides трансмиссионной lines demanded freedom of moving in the longitudinal direction, compensating the displacement of transmission inevitably occurring during movement of the car.
