Check and adjustment of turns of idling

As idling turns is called frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft at the released pedal of an accelerator. The given parametre is among critical, defining both engine work in general, and serviceability of functioning of its various subsystems.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check up correctness of installation and serviceability of a condition of an air cleaner and all vacuum lines. Make sure of absence of signs of leaks in an inlet air path.
2. Cock a lay brake and prop up wheels противооткатными boots. Disconnect all onboard consumers of the electric power and check up correctness of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition (the engine Electric equipment see the Head).
3. The engine should be heated-up to normal working temperature that guarantees automatic switching-off of fast idling.
4. Make sure that transmission is established in position «Р».
5. Demanded accuracy of measurement of frequency of rotation of the engine at check of its single turns it is capable to provide only дистанционно a connected digital tachometre, device connection make strictly according to instructions of manufacturers.

The petrol engine

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Connect a tachometre. Connect a sampler of a tester of a tachometre to a conclusion «IG» (-) a diagnostic socket.

Do not suppose a contact of a wire of a tachometre of weight, it can cause damage of bobbin assemblage.

2. Start the engine and increase frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft to 1000 rpm; supporting it about 5 seconds. Release a gas pedal.
3. Consider indications of a tachometre and compare them to requirements of Specifications. If idling turns do not correspond to requirements of Specifications, malfunction, most likely, consists in an electronic control system of idling (ETCS). Idling turns on engines with fuel injection (EFI) are supervised ECM, mechanical updating in this system is not provided.

The diesel engine

Adjustment of the minimum turns

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Be convinced that at the released pedal of gas control lever ТНВД concerns the screw of adjustment of the minimum turns of idling (address to an accompanying illustration). Otherwise adjust the drive lever.

2. Start the engine, check up idling turns compare results of check to requirements of Specifications.

3. For adjustment disconnect a drive of lever TNVD and establish the minimum turns of idling by screw turn in the position corresponding to the middle of the specified range (address to an accompanying illustration).

4. Tighten a counternut of the adjusting screw and again check up idling turns.
5. Connect a drive of a control lever and if necessary adjust it.

Adjustment of the maximum turns

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Be convinced that at the squeezed out pedal of gas control lever ТНВД concerns the screw of adjustment of the maximum turns (address to an accompanying illustration). Otherwise adjust the drive lever.

2. Start the engine, completely squeeze out a gas pedal, measure the maximum turns of a cranked shaft and compare results of measurement to requirements of Specifications.

Do not suppose engine work on the maximum turns more than 5 seconds. Adjustment make only at the adjusted minimum turns of idling.

3. For adjustment disconnect draught of an accelerator, cut off a seal of the adjusting screw and a special key give its counternut. Establish the maximum turns of idling by screw turn in the position corresponding to the middle of the specified range (address to an accompanying illustration).

4. Tighten a counternut of the adjusting screw, adjust the minimum turns of idling, and again check up the maximum turns.
5. Connect draught of an accelerator and if necessary adjust a drive. Establish on the adjusting screw a new seal.
